One of the best things about having a single-serve brewer is the fact that it provides hot water almost instantly. Hot Water on Demand as a feature is only available in very few K-Cup brewers, may they be from Keurig or other brands. It is perfect for use when you want to prepare an instant meal, a tea bag (instead of a pod), a packet of hot chocolate or more. The machine will heat up the water in a single-serving quicker than a boiler or even a microwave.

How To Get Hot Water on Demand From Classic Keurig Machines:

If you have an older Keurig model (a Classic model like the K55 for example), the easiest way to get hot water on demand would be to simply NOT insert a pod and hit the brew button while the slot is empty. However, be prepared that the water will most likely not come clean, but with some residue of coffee. So, you’re recommended to dispense some water to clear the residue, then dispense the amount of hot water you want.

Which K-Cup Brewers Have Hot Water on Demand Feature?

Keurig K-Elite Coffee Maker:

K-Elite is a classic Keurig brewer with high-end features. It’s top of the line when it comes to Keurig’s classic line with five brewing cup sizes (4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 oz) as well as hot water on demand. It also has features like temperature control, programmable auto on/off, ICED setting, strong brew and more. And the best part about it? It is compatible with all K-Cup pods!

Cuisinart SS-10 Premium Single Serve Coffee Maker:

This brewer by Cuisinart can brew classic K-Cups as well as new (no DRM like the Keurig 2.0). Although it’s not a new machine, it is packed with great features. One of these features, of course, is Hot Water on Demand. The SS-10 allows you to brew cups up to 12 oz and select your brew or hot water temperature.
